DESCRIPTION:Board of Commissioners\n\nChatham County's commissioners adopted the Recode Chatham Unified Development Ordinance on 18 November 2024\, ending four years of work. Three weeks later the General Assembly overrode a veto on Senate Bill 382\, which removed local downzoning authority\, and the ordinance has not taken effect since.\n\nThe same evening drew about thirty-five comments\, most of them on a Dollar General proposed at NC 87 and Castle Rock Farm Road in Hadley Township. That rezoning hearing was held and referred to the Planning Board.
