SUMMARY:Town of Pittsboro: Board of Commissioners Regular
DESCRIPTION:1. Board of Commissioners (BOC)\n\nPittsboro's commissioners held two public hearings on August 10. One adopted the development fee schedule for FY 2026-27\, which needed two corrections after fees were dropped by accident in the July rewrite. The other was a rezoning for the Hydrotube property\, a brownfield site the applicant wants to bring back into commercial use\, which the planning board had recommended unanimously on July 20.\n\nThe board also took up a greenway easement across the Chatham County fairgrounds and a budget amendment to pay for it\, adopted a memorandum of understanding with Rewild Within for Roberson Creek Park\, and heard from the New Hope Bird Alliance about bird-friendly habitat on that same 72-acre property. Quarterly financials through June 30 and a Boys and Girls Club summer report came in as information items.\n\nAgenda: https://pittsboronc.gov/AgendaCenter/ViewFile/Agenda/_08102026-560?html=true\nWatch: https://www.youtube.com/@townofpittsboronc/streams\nDetails: https://ncgovwatch.com/meetings/1320

SUMMARY:Town of Pittsboro: Pittsboro Downtown Advisory Board Special Meeting
DESCRIPTION:5. Pittsboro Downtown Advisory Board (PDAB)\n\nPittsboro's downtown advisory board met in special session August 11 to organize itself and start a master plan. It filled chair and vice chair posts for the full board and for all three of its committees\, then took up a proposed schedule for a Downtown Master Plan and the membership of a steering committee to guide it\, both of which go on to the town commissioners.\n\nThe board also settled where two sculptures go. Staff recommended the design committee's picks: the Moth Bench on the northeast side of the downtown traffic circle\, and the Peace Pole in Page Park. Members saw a new downtown brand identity and logo package\, and discussed a pre-development analysis of the town's own downtown properties.\n\nAgenda: https://pittsboronc.gov/AgendaCenter/ViewFile/Agenda/_08112026-561?html=true\nWatch: https://www.youtube.com/@townofpittsboronc/streams\nDetails: https://ncgovwatch.com/meetings/1359

SUMMARY:Town of Pittsboro: Parks and Recreation Advisory Board
DESCRIPTION:4. Parks and Recreation Advisory Board (PARAB)\n\nPittsboro's parks and recreation advisory board had one thing to approve on August 12: the master plan for Robeson Creek Park\, 72 acres the town received as parkland-in-lieu last year. A draft concept went to the board in January\, and the version presented in August reflects a steering committee\, public engagement and stakeholder input since then.\n\nThe board also elected a chairperson and welcomed two members\, Patti Dukes reappointed to the extraterritorial jurisdiction seat and Molly Willging newly appointed in-town. Staff updated members on the splashpad at Knight Farm Park and set up a park art initiative\, assigning each member a park to review for possible art sites.\n\nAgenda: https://pittsboronc.gov/AgendaCenter/ViewFile/Agenda/_08122026-562?html=true\nWatch: https://www.youtube.com/@townofpittsboronc/streams\nDetails: https://ncgovwatch.com/meetings/1350

SUMMARY:Town of Pittsboro: Planning Board Regular
DESCRIPTION:6. Planning Board (PB)\n\nPittsboro's planning board took up two rezonings on August 17\, both recommended for approval by staff. The larger is roughly 4 acres on US 15-501\, south of the water treatment plant\, where the builder Intrepid Build wants to move its offices into the existing house and rezone from rural residential agricultural to a conditional community mixed use center. The town's land use map calls that land residential\, so the rezoning does not match it. Under state law\, approving it amends the future land use map without a separate plan amendment.\n\nThe second is a 0.4-acre lot on East Salisbury Street\, across from the new town hall site and north of the Walgreens\, where the owners want to move from high density residential to conditional office and institutional. That one does match the land use map\, which classifies the parcel as downtown support.\n\nAgenda: https://pittsboronc.gov/AgendaCenter/ViewFile/Agenda/_08172026-563?html=true\nWatch: https://www.youtube.com/@townofpittsboronc/streams\nDetails: https://ncgovwatch.com/meetings/1374

SUMMARY:Town of Pittsboro: ABC Commission Regular
DESCRIPTION:2. Alcohol Beverage Control Commission (ABC)\n\nPittsboro's ABC board met August 18 at the store on Sanford Road for a financial review and nothing else. The posted agenda lists three items: the agenda itself\, a balance sheet\, and an income statement.\n\nThe board was looking at two sets of figures\, July 2026 and the final consolidated statements for the fiscal year that ended in June. The agenda names no action items.\n\nAgenda: https://pittsboronc.gov/AgendaCenter/ViewFile/Agenda/_08182026-564?html=true\nWatch: https://www.youtube.com/@townofpittsboronc/streams\nDetails: https://ncgovwatch.com/meetings/1339

SUMMARY:Town of Pittsboro: Pittsboro Downtown Advisory Board Design Committee Monthly Meeting
DESCRIPTION:8. Downtown Design Committee\n\nPittsboro's downtown design committee had one thing to vote on August 19: where to put a taxi cab sculpture. The suggested motion left the location blank for the committee to fill in\, and the recommendation goes up from there.\n\nThe rest was updates from the committee's working teams. Art in Action reported on cultural assets and the sculpture show\, Downtown Designers on the west alleyway\, and staff on the pollinator garden plan. The committee also opened a broader discussion of how it handles public art now and how it should going forward\, and cleared a backlog of three sets of minutes from June and July.\n\nAgenda: https://pittsboronc.gov/AgendaCenter/ViewFile/Agenda/_08192026-535?html=true\nWatch: https://www.youtube.com/@townofpittsboronc/streams\nDetails: https://ncgovwatch.com/meetings/1395

DESCRIPTION:9. Downtown Economic Vitality Committee\n\nPittsboro's downtown economic vitality committee met August 27 with no action items on the agenda. SUMMARY:Town of Pittsboro: Pittsboro Downtown Advisory Board Regular Meeting
DESCRIPTION:5. Pittsboro Downtown Advisory Board (PDAB)\n\nPittsboro's downtown advisory board meets Tuesday evening still short a chair. It appointed chairs and vice chairs across its three committees at a special meeting on August 11\, and returns to fill the board's own chair seat\, the Economic Vitality vice chair\, and a member vacancy.\n\nTwo items carried over from that meeting come back: the Downtown Master Plan steering committee recommendations\, which go to the town commissioners\, and an analysis of the town's publicly owned downtown properties. The board also takes up a temporary activation strategy for the SoCo patio\, Halloween decorations\, and a review of the 2023 resolution that created the board.\n\nAgenda: https://pittsboronc.gov/AgendaCenter/ViewFile/Agenda/_09012026-565?html=true\nWatch: https://www.youtube.com/@townofpittsboronc/streams\nDetails: https://ncgovwatch.com/meetings/1358
