Wake County's Board of Commissioners held a public hearing and unanimously approved an authorizing resolution for a Series 2025 installment financing agreement of up to $703.6 million for school construction, covering major renovations at Brentwood Elementary and Northern Garner and new construction at Morrisville High School. Debt and Capital Strategy Director Todd Taylor walked the board through the county's draw-down bond program, this cycle's major school projects, funding for FY2026-27, the bank selected and the fiscal impact before the board opened, then closed without comment, a public hearing on the installment financing agreement; it then adopted the authorizing resolution 7-0. On the consent agenda the board accepted the Fowler Property acquisition through the county's Open Space Preservation Program, a second reading amending Shotwell Landfill's construction and demolition debris franchise, and a resolution of intent to close a portion of the public right-of-way of Dover Farm Road following a family petition. Health Director Rebecca Kaufman and Live Well Wake Program Manager Marcellos Allison presented the 2025 Community Health Needs Assessment, its survey results and 2025-2028 priorities, and how those align with the county's strategic plan; no vote was taken on the presentation.
