What's on this agenda
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee's October meeting centers on an update from the town's new Farmers Market coordinator, along with the usual round of staff and council reports. The committee is also set to pick a member to represent it on the Tree Advisory Committee, a seat left open at its September meeting.

Meeting recap
What happened, drawn from the records published after the meeting. Minutes
Farmers market manager Erali Miller gave the committee a full picture of the market and where she wants to take it. Sixty-five vendors are active, weighted toward condiments and honey at 15, then produce, protein, baked goods and snacks at six or seven each. Attendance stands at 45,687 for the year to date, with a lot of repeat custom. Shoppers spent $1,249 in SNAP benefits, matched with $974, and the market has sent 2,925 pounds of produce worth $4,544 to Produce to Pantry.
Her plans are a revision of vendor policies and contracts, more protein and produce, and a 501(c)(3) with a Friends of the Market group to open up funding and support new vendors. She also floated a Moonlight Market from five to nine in the evening, with artisans, prepared food and food trucks, and events such as film nights and trivia on the lawn. Autumn events run from costume parades in October through a Battle of the Badges chili cook-off, a children's market with 40 booths, and a Thanksgiving giveaway.
Seven of nine members attended and nobody spoke at public comment.
