Advisory board meeting Appointments and personnelPolice and public safetyHealth and human services

What's on this agenda

Three vacancies in front of the board - a Chapel Hill seat, the retail pet services seat, and a non-municipal one coming in June - plus a follow-up on this year's goals, a proposal to add a youth delegate, and results from a county survey.

Meeting recap

What happened, drawn from the records published after the meeting. Minutes

The youth delegate proposal is the notable one. Several Orange County advisory boards seat non-voting youth members - the parks council and the arts board in Apex both do - and an animal services board considering the same is a small widening of who gets a seat.

The vacancies discussed here were all filled at the following meeting on 17 June, when three applicants came forward for three designated seats. Designating seats by background is how a small board keeps one constituency from taking it over: a board of advocates and a board of pet businesses would advise very differently on shelter policy and enforcement.

The director's report covers the shelter, fostering, clinic programmes and a fundraiser.
