In the second case, for a proposed 199-foot 'monopine' cell tower on Trenton Road east of the SAS campus, the applicant sought a reduction in the required setback on the property's southern edge, bordering land whose owner raised no objection; witnesses cited a steep drop-off in topography and safety separation from Duke Power's high-voltage lines as justification. The board approved the setback reduction and then the development plan, both 4-0, with the same condition that remaining staff review comments be addressed.
