The board unanimously approved Triangle Fellowship Church's special use permit and development plan to locate a religious assembly use in an existing 8,400-square-foot office condominium at 401 Cascade Pointe Lane, inside the Weston Planned Development District. Witnesses for the applicant, including the pastor, a real estate consultant and a traffic engineer, testified there would be no undue traffic impact, no negative effect on adjoining property values and no exterior change to the building; the board found all approval criteria under LDO Section 3.8.3 and 3.9.2(I) were met and later adopted both resolutions on a single 5-0 vote, conditioned on recording the special use approval with the Wake County Register of Deeds and the applicant addressing remaining Development Review Committee comments on the master plan set.

The board also unanimously adopted the resolution approving the Wake Memorial Park development plan (24-DP-7218) as drafted. Staff presented the board's 2024-2025 annual report, noting a busy year with 13 cases compared to five the year before, including three drive-throughs, three buffer reductions, three developments over 100 units, two special uses, one variance and one reasonable accommodation; no board action was required.
