The commission welcomed new member Melissa Hockaday and tabled the vice chair election to November. Staff and a guest speaker from Greensboro's preservation office briefed the commission on heritage-recognition programs, like signage and walking tours, as an alternative to historic-district zoning overlays. The Nancy Jones House remains in good condition, with commissioner site tours planned for November 6. The commission adopted its 2026 work plan, which prioritizes certificate-of-appropriateness and landmark reviews, a community outreach event, and a new historic sign marker program.
