Cary's greenway committee gave staff a long list of what belongs on the rebuilt greenway hub kiosk at Bond Park on November 18: a QR code, bike and hike maps, a Bond Park map, a speed limit sign, rules and regulations, historical information, mileage, the point where most greenways connect, historic landmarks and nearby retail.

Members also asked whether more greenways could reach Downtown Cary Park and whether a kiosk could go there. Staff said several routes circle the park but running one through it is hard because of space and foot traffic, and agreed to look into a kiosk.

On naming greenways, members asked how names are chosen and whether the public gets a say. Staff said the public or the committee may suggest names but the council makes the decision.

The greenway gap identification work is finished and available on a web map.

The parks advisory board liaison reported that the SAS Championship has been renewed for three more years and the TST tournament at WakeMed Soccer Park through 2029; that the parks system plan has been approved and now needs formally rolling into the Imagine Cary plan, as will the bike plan and greenway plan; and that work on the land development ordinance update starts in January and should finish by mid-year. The pumpkin flotilla at Bond Park drew 1,500 people and the teen council's haunted walk drew 1,000.

The process for choosing a chair and vice chair is still unsettled, so the current chair stays on for now.
