Assistant Planning Director Katie Drye walked the commission through the Historic Preservation Master Plan, adopted in 2010. She said Cary reached Certified Local Government status in 2017, giving it access to preservation grants, and that the town has completed 35 of the plan's 71 action items, with 11 more partially done. Planning Director Heather Whelehan outlined the town council's budget calendar; more detail on the commission's own funding is expected next month.

Senior Planner Marshall Brown reported on the Historic Preservation Month committee's first meeting, and members Julia Morrison and Michele Counter described plans for a walking tour with the Friends of Page-Walker. Brown and Operations and Program Supervisor Kris Carmichael gave a maintenance update on the Nancy Jones House and said its site visit would be rescheduled. The commission adopted its agenda and the January minutes without objection and adjourned at 7:49 p.m.
