The social participation and inclusion group is building an eighth-grade health class course, modeled on the Project Engage curriculum, to teach students about aging and reduce ageism, working with the Chapel Hill-Carrboro and Orange County school systems. The outdoor spaces and buildings group reported a 90+ Afternoon Tea on September 24 that drew 23 participants, a Fit Lot exercise park at Seymour Center on track to open by March 2025, and a finished accessibility ramp for a new storage unit. The transportation group said its help line logged 350 calls from 140 callers totaling 1,099 minutes, its volunteer driving program enrolled 8 new riders for 26 one-way rides with 2 drivers, and staff helped 25 people complete Community Health Transportation applications.
