Danna Widmar walked the board through the town's FY 2027 budget calendar and led a quadratic-voting exercise to rank budget priorities. Ranked highest to lowest, the board put environmental stewardship first, followed by service excellence, high-performing staff, affordability, fiscal responsibility, maintaining service levels, maintaining facilities, new capital investment, operational efficiency and community safety. Widmar said Cary is in the earliest stages of building the FY 2027 budget and pointed members to an April 7 budget open house at the Cary Senior Center and other ways to give feedback.

Chair Mia South told members they will tour the South Cary Water Reclamation Facility in May. Board member Rachel Porter shared her board profile, and members discussed native landscaping, e-recycling options and the closure of the Cary Convenience Center. Nobody signed up for public comment.
