Cary's Greenway Committee met March 19 and spent most of its time on the town's early FY2027 budget process rather than any land-use business. Staff member Cassie Schumacher-Georgopoulos ran a quadratic-voting exercise on budget priorities; committee members ranked maintaining facilities, new capital investment and fiscal responsibility highest. Those rankings go into the materials the town council will review at its May 14 quarterly meeting. No members of the public spoke.

The committee also planned the year's greenway outreach marking the town's 100-mile greenway milestone: a Spring Daze booth April 25, plus National Trails Day, Lazy Daze and Great Trails State Day events later in the year. Members suggested adding a favorite-greenway pin board and a children's coloring station to the Spring Daze booth. Chris Herndon reported for the PRCR Advisory Board with nothing to add. The meeting adjourned at 7:33 p.m.; the committee's next meeting is April 23.
