The commission met virtually on April 8 and adopted the agenda and the March 11 minutes without objection. Marshall Brown and Michele Counter previewed May's Historic Preservation Month, which brings back the Cary History Hunt, physical cards distributed at events such as Herbfest and at downtown businesses; the commission plans a Herbfest booth on May 3, and Rachel Smith reported new branding work for Cary Historic Preservation underway with the town's marketing department.

On the Nancy Jones House, Brown said the building remains well maintained with no reported issues, and relayed positive public comments about the house from a recent budget open house. Smith updated the commission on its Certified Local Government grant application for paint microscopy analysis at the house, including possible collaboration with students on 3D modeling. Under the chair's report, commissioners voted unanimously to pursue an update to the town's Historic Preservation Master Plan and to request FY2027 budget funding for it.
