The committee heard a complaint from resident Christine O'Mara about high-speed e-bikes on the greenways, ridden by children at 20 to 30 miles an hour. Members said they don't favor banning e-bikes from greenways. They recommended a town education campaign instead: clearer speed-limit signage, an infographic distinguishing e-bikes, mopeds and e-motorcycles, and flyers the Cary Police Department, committee members and other volunteers could hand out on the greenways.

The committee also canceled its June meeting; whether July's meeting is canceled too will be decided July 1. Staff showed an internal greenway webmap and are weighing a public version. The committee planned a National Trails Day discovery walk for June 6 at Frantz Square. It thanked two departing Teen Council members. The parks and recreation system plan and the town's bike plan are moving toward adoption later this summer, staff said. It opened at 6:05 p.m. and adjourned at 7:32 p.m.
