Cary's Senior Advisory Board approved its 2025-26 annual report without objection on 2 September, on a motion by Barry Mitsch seconded by John Tramontin. It was the last meeting for Mitsch, who helped start the board with former council member Ed Yerha, and for Lily Chen, and members and council liaison Carissa Kohn-Johnson thanked them both.

Staff liaison Michelle Barrett introduced Heather Whelehan, the planning and community development director, who joins the board's staff team. Barrett said Meals on Wheels serves 100 Cary residents a day and faces funding strain from lower federal money and fuel costs. She also said 40% of the town's parks and recreation programs filled on the first day of registration. The meeting had no public comment period.

How the votes went

Agenda adopted and the June 3 and August 5 minutes approved without objection. 2025-26 annual report approved without objection (Mitsch moved, Tramontin seconded).
