Staff presented two draft concepts for renovating the South Park Community Center at 820 South Main Street, developed with HH Architecture. The project comes out of the 2024 parks master plan, with design money in the current budget and construction money planned for 2027.

The board also worked through ten capital projects and heard that the Banks Road baseball field should be ready for fall sports.

The renovation concepts aim at circulation, acoustics, additional program space, a larger fitness area and a clearly defined main entrance, alongside the appearance of the building.

On the project list, the Hilltop Needmore trail improvements are out to bid and the Alston Ridge Greenway is under construction. The Library Park design goes to the town board on March 9. The Banks Road contract has been awarded with notice to proceed due by month's end, for a 325-foot field with LED lighting, which staff expect to have available for fall sports. Field lighting poles and fixtures for Action Park arrive in the first week of March, and the South Park dugout project is finished. The Willow Spring Park design contract went to Site Collaborative at the town board's last meeting.

Nobody spoke at public comment. Summer camp registration for residents opens February 21, and the egg hunt at Fleming Loop Park on March 28 will use 43,000 eggs. A returning member welcomed the new appointees. The board adjourned at 8:25 pm.
