What local government has been working on
Every agenda item collected over the past 12 months, tagged against one shared topic list so a rezoning in Apex counts the same as a rezoning in Cary. Counts are agenda items, not meetings.
The story so far
What this site can see of the General Assembly is the calendar, and for the past week the calendar has been about vetoes. The House convened at noon on 31 August with veto overrides as unfinished business and two bills printed: Senate Bill 50, which would let any United States citizen aged 18 or older carry a concealed handgun without a permit, vetoed in June 2025, and House Bill 437, a drug-free-zone bill broadened by Senate amendment into a statewide public-camping ban. On 2 September the House convened to take up five vetoed bills, three under reconsideration and two more under unfinished business on the same subject. No votes were recorded on the calendars themselves.
The Senate has been the opposite. Its calendars for 31 August and 2 September carry only the fixed order of business every session day carries: prayer, journal approval, committee reports, messages from the House, veto messages from the Governor, then unfinished and general orders. No bills are named under any of them.

That gap is the thing to understand about this record. The legislature publishes no minutes, and the House and Senate Journal is not collected here, so a session where the chamber reads the Governor's vetoes into the record leaves no trace on this site beyond the fact that the bills were up. Committee notices have the same problem in a smaller form: the Child Fatality Task Force met on 27 August and the General Statutes Commission's committee on drivers license suspension met on 28 August, and both published a notice with no agenda and no papers.
