Pittsboro's downtown design committee took two building rehabilitation grant applications on April 15, both on Hillsboro Street: one for a fitness studio at number 81 and one for a barber shop at number 77. These are the grants whose review process the full downtown advisory board rewrote in July, putting itself at the end of the chain after this committee.

The committee recommended both building rehabilitation grants, each 7-0: BRG-2026-04 at 81 Hillsboro Street for Ladies Fitness, and BRG-2026-03 at 77 Hillsboro Street for a barber shop. Seven members were present and the March minutes passed 7-0.

The downtown development director asked the committee to go through the draft 2027 work plan and say what to consolidate and what to put first, and it did. Two team reports followed. Art in Action has been mapping the town's cultural assets and where public art is now and could go. Downtown Designers has been researching what it would take to set up a historic preservation commission in Pittsboro and what the town would gain from one.
