Regular meeting Historic preservation

What's on this agenda

Chapel Hill's Historic District Commission approved two routine Certificate of Appropriateness applications: hardscape and landscaping changes, including replacing a slate walkway with brick, at 208 Glandon Drive, and exterior work including a bump-out addition at a house built in 1920 at 209 N. Boundary Street. Neither application proposed changing the footprint of the existing house, and both were approved without opposition.

The commission also reviewed a routine report on staff-approved certificates and completed maintenance work, and spent time on two longer-running items: how to approach preservation education and outreach, and whether to build a 'look book' illustrating the character of the town's historic districts. Both were continued to future meetings rather than decided.

Summarized from the published agenda. Read the agenda itself before acting on it.

How the votes went

Both Certificate of Appropriateness applications (208 Glandon Drive, 209 N. Boundary Street) were approved unanimously; no other votes were taken.
