What's on this agenda
An accessible-lift addition at 204 Glenburnie Street returns to Chapel Hill's Historic District Commission on Tuesday, 13 October, after the commission continued the hearing on 8 September. The owner's architect, Shaan Hassan, also proposes replacing the rear deck with a new deck and patio in the Franklin-Rosemary Historic District.
Three certificates are on consent: a new dwelling and a moved carriage house at 21 Cobb Terrace, a metal fence at University Baptist Church, and a second-story addition at the Delta Kappa Epsilon house on South Columbia Street. Staff will report on two federal Section 106 reviews, of invasive plant control in Jordan Lake and of NCDOT intersection work on Franklin Street that now reaches Henderson Street. The commission also holds legal training and elects officers.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers asked for Section 106 historic review of an environmental assessment for managing invasive aquatic plants in Jordan Lake. Town staff told the Corps on 23 July they had no questions and asked for updates.

An update to NCDOT project HO-0013, which upgrades the Franklin Street intersections at South Columbia and North Graham streets, now adds the Henderson Street and East Franklin Street intersection. Staff advised that work inside NCDOT's right-of-way needs no certificate of appropriateness.
