Chapel Hill's Historic District Commission decided three Certificate of Appropriateness cases on June 9: 214 McCauley Street and 118 Mallette Street were both approved unanimously as not incongruous with the historic district. The 111 Ridge Lane case was more contested -- a motion to continue the hearing to August 11 failed, meaning the commission chose to keep deciding the case that night rather than delay it, and the application was then approved. The commission also interviewed a candidate and voted unanimously to recommend the appointment to Town Council, and acknowledged Pride Month and Caribbean American Heritage Month.
