Town of Hillsborough · Board of Adjustment

Regular meeting

What's on this agenda

This is a light administrative meeting for the Board of Adjustment. Members will approve minutes from a rescheduled September meeting, review and adopt their 2026 meeting schedule, and sit for a training session with the town attorney on board procedures.

No variance, special-use permit, or other quasi-judicial case is on this agenda, so the board is not deciding any property matters at this meeting.

Meeting recap

What happened, drawn from the records published after the meeting. Minutes

The Board of Adjustment met for under an hour and took up nothing but internal business. Members approved the minutes of their rescheduled September 9, 2025 meeting, adopted a 2026 meeting calendar that shifts the November session to November 10 for Veterans Day, and sat through a training presentation from Town Attorney Bob Hornik on board duties and procedure. All three votes were unanimous, 7-0.

During staff reports, Senior Planner Tom King told the board that the town's November joint public hearing with the Planning Board considered rezoning the remainder of the Oakdale Village property, at Oakdale Drive and South Churton Street, from Entranceway Special Use to General Commercial, and that the Unified Development Ordinance was amended to comply with a new state law barring local waiting periods on refiled development applications. King also reviewed expiring terms for members Richard Chapple, Eddie Sain and Chair Raul Herrera.

How the votes went

The board approved the agenda, the September 9, 2025 minutes and the 2026 meeting schedule, each by a 7-0 vote.
