What is in the packet
The packet behind Hillsborough's September 14 agenda shows what the demolition correction is actually correcting. Commissioners adopted demolition ordinances on August 24 for two dilapidated structures, at 613 Buttonwood Drive and 380 Cornelius Street. The Cornelius Street ordinance names Parcel ID 9865801221; the amendment before the board substitutes 9865801551. The ordinance makes the cost of demolition a lien against the property.
The rest is as routine as the agenda suggests. The 2025 Local Water Supply Plan comes to the board because the state requires approval once every five years even though the plan is completed annually, and the last approval was in 2020; staff record no financial impact and make no recommendation. The packet also carries the miscellaneous budget amendments and transfers, including Tourism Development Authority amendments for fiscal year 2027, and the proposal to wrap a police patrol car in a veterans theme, which is the only item on the regular agenda.
Read from the first 50 pages of the packet, which is where this site stops — the rest is attachments, plan sheets and correspondence. Open the full packet if this is not enough.
What's on this agenda
Hillsborough's commissioners had one item for debate on Monday: a proposal to wrap a police patrol car in a veterans theme. Everything else went on consent, including the 2025 local water supply plan, acceptance of the waterline at 420 West Tryon Street, budget amendments and transfers, and three proclamations for Diaper Need Awareness Week, Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Hispanic Heritage Month.
The board also corrected the demolition ordinance it adopted on August 24 for 380 Cornelius Street, where the parcel number had been written down wrong. Two newly hired officers, Mia Hildebrand and Jonathan Nelson, were introduced and reaffirmed their oaths, and Heather Fisher was appointed secondary alternate director to the Upper Neuse River Basin Association.
