What was decided

  1. Approved V.APAAB Rules of Order Approved without objection
  2. Approved VI.A2026 Public Art Advisory Board Work Plan & Goals Approved without objection

Read from the agenda's recorded outcomes. Where the board published minutes, those are the record — this is a pointer to them.

What's on this agenda

Cary's public art advisory board adopted its rules of order and its 2026 work plan on November 19. Asked whether the board has a budget of its own, staff confirmed it does not.

Members wanted an app that would guide people to a particular piece of public art. Staff pointed out the town's public art webpage already has an interactive map of the whole collection, and that the town shares an app with Downtown Cary Park for a walking tour of the artwork there.

Meeting recap

What happened, drawn from the records published after the meeting. Minutes

The NW Cary Parkway and Black Creek Greenway bridge is far enough along that a ribbon cutting is planned.

GLOW begins in January, opening with the Under the Silver Moon community lantern parade on January 10, preceded by lantern-making workshops. A GLOW installation at First Cary United Methodist Church by artist Julia Gartrell is among the current projects.

The Fine Arts League of Cary is opening a new space at 110 East Park Street behind the Mayton Inn at the end of November. The teen council reported the October haunted walks a success.

How the votes went

Two motions, both passed without objection: adopting the rules of order (Jordan/Searcy) and the 2026 work plan (Jordan/Kingman). The agenda and minutes were approved without objection.
