Durham's city council took its first look at the FY2024-25 proposed budget and the FY2025-30 capital improvement plan on 20 May 2024, item 35 on the agenda. Five land use items followed: three consolidated annexations, for Sheffield Farms, a Fayetteville Road multifamily site and the Virgil Road assemblage, and a zoning map change at 4917 and 5005 Chin Page Road. The council also took up the permanent closing of 479 linear feet of Dacian Avenue.

Everything else, items 1 through 17, 19 through 34, and 42 and 43, was set for a single consent vote.
