The board approved its April 6 minutes without objection, then heard Kaytee Smith introduce herself as the town's new marketing and communications supervisor. IT staff member Nihem Tumor and Adam Reiser of the vendor Huwise presented a redesign of the open data portal. Board members raised accessibility concerns about blue-and-white color contrast, suggested adding brief descriptions to the NC Catalog's dataset categories, and asked about mobile access, ongoing maintenance and marketing plans for the launch; no vote was taken, and the feedback went to staff and the vendor rather than to a formal recommendation.

In the future-technologies section, staff reported ongoing work on a data and AI program and said its first workshop, "What's Possible," was set for May 12. The council liaison, staff and citizens reported no updates, and members discussed a possible future field trip. The board set its next meeting for June 1.
