The board heard from Andre Anthony, chief executive officer of NeighborUp, on the nonprofit's work with older residents. NeighborUp formed through the merger of Dorcas Ministries and Western Wake Crisis Ministry. Anthony described its food pantry, financial assistance and case management, including help for people displaced by the Morrisville apartment fire and the Chatham Estates relocation. Members asked about funding, volunteers and whether the group owns or leases its property.

Staff liaison Michelle Barrett reported on the April Budget Open House and the Health Fair, and outlined fall programs including a GoCary bus-navigation session, a Death Cafe, a tour of the South Cary Water Reclamation facility and a farming program at Good Hope Farm. She then shared May's engagement opportunities with the board; the minutes do not record what those are. Council liaison Carissa Kohn-Johnson shared the Older Americans Month proclamation. The board took no votes and made no recommendation at this meeting.
