The board recommended Whispering Creek 7-2, with Chiosso and Smith opposed and Andrews recused. Road names, conservation space management and emergency access had all been settled with staff before the vote.

Two unanimous motions followed. The board asked the commissioners to take steps to significantly reduce the speed limit on Bynum Ridge Road, the road the subdivision empties onto, 10-0. It then formally asked the commissioners to have the county attorney review the unified development ordinance for compliance with Senate Bill 382, also 10-0. On the Community Bill of Rights the board concluded that much of what it would contain is already in the development ordinance the county cannot yet implement.

How the votes went

Whispering Creek recommended 7-2, Chiosso and Smith opposed, Andrews recused. A recommendation to reduce the Bynum Ridge Road speed limit passed 10-0. A request that the commissioners have the county attorney review the development ordinance against Senate Bill 382 passed 10-0. The agenda and the July minutes were approved 10-0.
