The text amendment was recommended 9-0. The rezoning was recommended 8-1 with Chiosso opposed, and the consistency statement passed 8-1 on the same split, finding the use transitional while keeping the area's rural character and noting the site sits in the employment center node of Plan Moncure.

The discussion was about what the facility would be. One member said he applauded investment in southeast Chatham and recreational opportunities but was unsure cricket and pickleball were the answer, and questioned how public a membership club with paid admission really is.
