All three motions carried 7-0 with three of the ten members absent, and the meeting was over in 41 minutes.

On ACT 37, the amendment folding the Bike Plan and the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources System Plan into the Imagine Cary Community Plan, members asked how e-bikes fit. Staff said they are tracking micromobility as an evolving question and ran a greenway safety campaign last year. On how streets would hold vehicles, pedestrians and bikes at once, staff said no new right of way is proposed: travel lanes narrow from 14 feet with a wide outer lane to 11 or 12 feet, and the standards get applied through development and redevelopment, with existing corridors possibly repurposed through future capital projects. Asked whether a minimum lane width is set, staff said the amendment does not set one and that detail belongs in the standards and specifications. In discussion on the motion, members said they do not want e-bikes barred from greenways but hope riders behave. The board recommended approval 7-0, moved by Andy Coe and seconded by Reuben Moore, and found the matching ordinance amendments consistent with the comprehensive plan 7-0.

ACT 41 amends the Chatham-Cary joint land use plan. Staff said the land is zoned Chatham County Residential-1, outside Cary's corporate boundary, and will need both rezoning and annexation, which are on hold until Chatham County and Cary both approve the plan amendment. Asked about notice, staff said Chatham County advertised its hearing but Cary did not know the notification radius, and that Cary will make its standard notifications if the rezoning proceeds. The board recommended approval 7-0 on a motion by Sal Cammarata seconded by Bozhena Etin, with no discussion.

Five votes, all 7-0 with Ken George, Michael Roselli and Chris Johnson absent: the agenda, the April 27 minutes, the ACT 37 comprehensive plan amendment, a finding that the ACT 38 ordinance amendments are consistent with the plan, and the ACT 41 amendment to the Chatham-Cary joint land use plan.
