What's on this agenda
Chatham County's commissioners met with the Siler City town board at the Siler City aging services building on 30 September 2024. The town's parks and recreation director reported on its master plan: six parks, a gymnasium, a sports complex, an aquatic facility, a veterans memorial and a greenway, with recent work at Washington Park and Boling Lane Park.
They also took the reappraisal program ahead of the 2025 revaluation, the county's reentry program, and the TriRiver utility merger talks.

Meeting recap
What happened, drawn from the records published after the meeting. Minutes
Five county commissioners attended, and both boards' chairs called their own meetings to order.
Washington Park gained a renovated basketball court, a pickleball court and a shuffleboard court, and Boling Lane Park the James Larry Cheek Pavilion. Future renovations are planned at the Ernest Ramsey Gym, Landrus Siler Park and Boling Lane Park, with the Loves Creek Greenway still being planned.
The reappraisal presentation walked both boards through what a reappraisal is, what tax value means, where it comes from and how equalization works, five months before the notices went out.
