What's on this agenda

Chatham County's Planning Board met for eight minutes on 3 December 2024. One subdivision item rode on consent, a sketch plan revision and preliminary plat for Fearrington Section X Area G, 13 lots on 3.71 acres, and there was nothing else.

The chair's last meeting was this one, after two terms and eight years, and the board had four vacancies waiting on the commissioners.

Meeting recap

What happened, drawn from the records published after the meeting. Minutes

The agenda, with the consent item on it, was approved. The November minutes passed 6-0. Nobody signed up to speak and the meeting adjourned at 7:08.

The planning director set out what 2025 would look like if the legislature's veto override failed: review the map of the new zoning districts, send a good draft to the commissioners, then run the rezoning through public hearings, legal notices, posted signs and mass mailings to every property owner. A great deal had to happen before 1 July, he said, so it might slip past that date. The override passed the following Monday and the whole thing was blocked instead.

How the votes went

The agenda with its consent item was approved, and the November minutes 6-0.
