Chatham County commissioners adopted the FY 2026-2027 Budget Ordinance on June 15, alongside amended financial and budgetary policies and several capital project ordinance amendments covering a Chatham County Schools HVAC replacement, Briar Chapel Park (including a Phase II project), an Emergency Operations Center expansion, and a new Sheriff's Office administration building. The evening's public hearings include a $14 million capital-investment economic development incentive grant request for Mosaic Hospitality LLC, a legislative rezoning of about 20.7 acres on Silk Hope Gum Springs Road for outdoor sports fields including cricket grounds, and a quasi-judicial Special Use Permit for a contractor's storage yard on Campbell Road in Bear Creek requested by Lockley Holdings, LLC -- a case that would still be unresolved when it reappeared on the board's August 17 agenda.
