The Historic District Commission approved Kate and Will Senner's request to move a house from 409 N. Wake St. to their property at 306 N. Churton St. and add a pool and fence there. Chair Will Senner, one of the applicants, recused himself from hearing the case; the remaining four commissioners heard it. The house, a 1956 Minimal Traditional-style structure, had been approved for demolition in December 2025, and staff told the commission the move would let it survive rather than be torn down. The commissioners found the relocation, siting and fencing consistent with the design standards and approved the application 4-0, on the condition that crepe myrtle trees removed for construction access be replaced. This is a certificate of appropriateness, which binds the property owner, not a landmark designation recommendation.

The commission also approved its February 4 minutes and written decisions 5-0, heard a staff proposal to update its rules of procedure, and got an update from Town Attorney Bob Hornik on a case involving 117 N. Wake St. that has been before Orange County Superior Court.

Commissioners approved the February 4 minutes and written decisions 5-0. On the Churton Street relocation, they voted 5-0 to let Chair Will Senner recuse himself as an applicant, then, with four members remaining, voted 4-0 that the project meets the design standards and 4-0 to approve it with the crepe myrtle condition.
