Members called Pride in the Park a success, citing a relaxed atmosphere, positive conversations, three Teen Council volunteers, and praise for Downtown Cary Park staff. The board voted unanimously to make a family screening of Inside Out 2 at Downtown Cary Park on Sept. 5 its next engagement event, choosing it over Asia Fest and other options ahead of a Sept. 30 deadline. The board also voted unanimously to volunteer as a group at Dorcas on Aug. 16.

Chair Jess MacDonald presented an update on translating public safety information, planned as a joint discussion with ISAB at its August meeting; members suggested opening that presentation with HRID's mission and narrowing it to a specific takeaway. Council Liaison Mayor Weinbrecht discussed the town budget and invited the board to a July 22 town hall. Staff highlighted several July observances, including South Asian Heritage Month and Disability Pride Month, and a Singles Mingle splash event July 18.

How the votes went

The board voted unanimously to adopt Inside Out 2 as its engagement event and to volunteer at Dorcas on Aug. 16; both votes carried with all seven members present voting aye.
