What's on this agenda

Cary's human relations, inclusion and diversity advisory board spent part of its January 6 meeting on the wording of the Hometown Spirit Award criteria, specifically the phrase 'traditional American past time' and what that is meant to mean. It agreed to invite the clerk's office to its March meeting.

The board also started work on community conversation partnerships, deciding how to choose partner organisations and agreeing that members would begin reaching out and introducing the board. Two existing connections were named: GiGi's Playhouse and the Hindu Society of North Carolina.

The council liaison reported that the information services advisory board wants to work with this board on a conversation about streaming board meetings, updated members on the town manager transition, and noted a coming programme to raise the budget's visibility and a biannual survey opening January 12.

The teen council representative reported on participation in the First Walk, the tree lighting and a canned food drive, and said a new Cary teen council website is coming.

The board set its social for February 3, after its next meeting.
