What's on this agenda

The Durham City Council will vote on six American Rescue Plan Act grants worth $4,454,042.30 total. The money would fund housing programs, eviction assistance and nonprofit business support, with the three largest awards at $1 million each.

The council also holds three land-use hearings. Lennar Carolinas would annex the 'Stella View' tract effective December 31 and rezone it to Planned Density Residential 4.484. Edens Land Corp would do the same for 'Geer and Junction,' rezoning it to Planned Development Residential 19.520. A third hearing would rezone 4150 Old Chapel Hill Road from commercial-neighborhood and residential-suburban to commercial-general. The new zoning would prohibit eight uses, among them places of worship, indoor firing ranges and manufactured home sales. Two more items would award pipeline-repair contracts: $948,275 to J.F. Wilkerson Contracting and $910,875 to Carolina Civilworks. A resolution would also name part of N.C. 751 and Cameron Boulevard 'Coach K Highway.'
