Durham City Council holds five public hearings on land use. Three are rezonings. One would allow multifamily housing at 5202 Garrett Road. Another would shift land near the county's utility administration building to industrial use. A third would rezone a tract off East Cornwallis Road for commercial use, barring nightclubs, payday lenders and firing ranges. The other two hearings would annex a project called Carolina Civil Works and close a 157-foot stretch of Henderson Street.

The council would approve $22.5 million in multifamily housing revenue bonds for a project called 300 East Main. It would raise the cap on the design-build agreement for Fire and EMS Station 18 to $7.4 million. Twelve appointments to city boards and commissions are on the consent agenda.
