The board is set to endorse Concept B of the draft South Main Street Corridor Study, a full redesign of the corridor with off-street bike lanes, wide sidewalks, roundabouts, parallel parking and a tree-lined median. Concept A, which stays inside the current road right-of-way, is the fallback option; endorsing Concept B would add the design to the town's Comprehensive Transportation Plan. Commissioners will also vote on a $94,105 contract with Johnson Consulting to study whether to renovate or build a new performing arts center at the Renaissance Centre, sign a resolution joining the Kroger opioid settlement, and take up an interlocal agreement adopting Wake County's 2021 nondiscrimination ordinance.
