Morrisville's town council opens a public hearing on the Transit Oriented Development and Zoning Plan, a subarea plan for the town's TOD East, TOD West and TOD South districts that would replace the current TOD East Subarea Plan and guide future rezoning of the land. The Planning and Zoning Board recommended it 4-1 on August 10. The council does not vote the same night; the attached resolution targets action for September 26.

That target slipped twice. The council scheduled a decision again for 10 October, billed there as the last of three sessions, and did not adopt the plan until 14 November, by which time the hearing had been continued four times. The council also holds a final vote on text amendments to the Unified Development Ordinance covering electric vehicle charging, after a public hearing held July 11, and considers a $799,200 purchase of a 2.16-acre parcel on Marcom Drive using Land Acquisition Fund bond proceeds. That funding changed later: a budget amendment on 26 March 2024 ran the same $799,200 through the Parks Payment-in-Lieu fund instead, with a matching drop in expected bond proceeds. Two nonprofit leases get a first look, with votes set for September 26: a renewal for the Community Garden on Church Street and a renewal for the Western Wake Farmers Market at the Healthy Food Hub.
