The board opened by unanimously approving its agenda and the minutes of its January 5 regular meeting and January 12 work session, then approved its full consent agenda in one 7-0 vote covering the bond ceiling, CDC grant funds, the CMAR delivery method, and Tax Committee refund and penalty recommendations. Nancy Daly, the county's Water Resources Program Manager, presented the Wake County One Water Plan; commissioners questioned her on municipal buy-in, data-center water use, tree-planting initiatives and the Little River reservoir before voting 7-0 to adopt the plan as the county's 50-year water resource plan. The board also considered a slate of board and commission appointments and reappointments, including a recommendation of John McDougall to the Historic Preservation Commission and Sarah Vimont as the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council's District Attorney designee. Commissioner Evans reported that GoTriangle and CAMPO have committed $125 million toward extending S-Line rail service north of Wake Forest into Franklin County. Interim Deputy County Manager Darrell Alford and Continuum of Care Lead Agency Director Eileen Rosa briefed the board on the county's response to recent winter storms, including more than 450 residents who used over-capacity white-flag emergency shelters. County Attorney Roger Askew told the board no closed session was needed, and the meeting adjourned at 6:25 p.m.
