Five applicants had come forward for three seats. Members wrote down their choices, the votes were tallied at the end of the meeting, and the board recommended three names to the county commissioners: one for the UNC seat and two for the core business community seats. It elected a new chair unanimously, kept its vice chair, and filled the secretary post by volunteer.

The economic development director reported FY24-25 grant activity and said the county manager has approved removing the start-up grant from the programme. Members discussed the guidelines and recommended focusing the grants on small businesses in the county. One member volunteered for the grant subcommittee, which loses two members at the end of their terms. A consultant will present the draft of the department's strategic plan at the 8 July meeting.
