What's on this agenda

Chatham County's Agriculture Advisory Board held a public hearing on 18 August on what the proposed Enbridge pipeline would do to farmland, and set aside two and a half hours for it. Comment was limited to three minutes a speaker, once each, and strictly to agricultural impacts. Residents could sign up by email until noon that day or in person in the twenty minutes before the meeting, and the two lists were alternated.

The board took Enbridge itself and the voluntary agricultural district members as its other two items. Its draft report on the hearing came back to the board on 8 September, and reached the county commissioners on 21 September, the night they voted on a resolution opposing the pipeline.
