What's on this agenda

This is the Wake County Board of Commissioners' regular meeting for April 6, 2026. Commissioners voted 6-1, with Chair Don Mial opposed, to pull Item 15, an update to the board's rules of procedure and appointments policy, from the agenda and defer it up to 90 days. They then approved the amended agenda, the March minutes, three ceremonial proclamations and the consent agenda unanimously, each on a motion and a second.

During public comment, Dan Coleman raised the $600 million Wake County Public School System bond, pointing to differences in ballot language from the county's 1999 and 2000 school bonds. Commissioners heard resignations and recommended appointees for six boards and commissions, reported on outside meetings and events, and closed the night with a closed session on economic-development incentive negotiations, a personnel matter and confidential information before adjourning at 8:21 p.m.

Commissioners voted 6-1, Chair Mial dissenting, to remove Item 15 from the agenda and defer it up to 90 days.
