What's on this agenda

The board gave a hotel developer another eighteen months, amending the local incentive agreement for the Tru by Hilton project to extend completion to June 30, 2027. It also ordered demolition of a building on Longfellow Street, picked a design firm for Willow Spring Park, and received the audited financial report for the year ending June 2025.

Much of the meeting was housekeeping after the December organizational meeting: ratifying planning board and board of adjustment appointments and naming members to the parks advisory board. Nobody spoke at public comment and there were no public hearings.

The incentive amendment is the item with the longest reach. It is the second amendment to the developer's agreement with the town, moving the project completion deadline out to June 2027, and it passed inside the consent agenda without separate discussion.

The condemnation ordinance directs demolition and removal of a building on Longfellow Street. That address returned to the board's attention in April, when a resident of the same street came to public comment to thank members for helping bring the matter to a resolution.

An auditor from the town's accounting firm presented the annual comprehensive financial report for the year ended June 30, 2025. The board also selected the best-qualified design firm for Willow Spring Park and authorized the manager to negotiate scope and fee, work that produced a design contract in January.

On the consent agenda, the board adopted resolutions directing the clerk to investigate an annexation petition on Eden Trail and setting its hearing, which it then adopted as an ordinance on January 5. It also recognized two donations and honoured a police officer for earning a state law enforcement certificate.

Under other business the board took a first reading of the Rogers Road zoning map amendment, which was tabled at the January 5 meeting and adopted on January 20. Every vote was 4-0, taken with one commissioner seat still vacant.
