Durham's city council opens the year with two annexation hearings, at 2211 Page Road and at NC55 and Hopson, both taking effect March 31 if adopted. Each would also rezone the land, one to office and institutional use, the other to industrial light.

The consent agenda would raise a three-year Legal Aid of North Carolina contract by $1,060,000, to $2,605,450, to keep funding eviction defense for residents. It would also authorize up to $17,000,000 in housing revenue bonds for the Hardee Street Apartments project, sell a six-acre option on the former Rolling Hills site to a developer for $1, and commit close to $8,000,000 combined to contracts, grants and change orders, including new water infrastructure contracts for the Western Intake Partnership on Jordan Lake.
