What's on this agenda

Morrisville's council took up two contracts on December 10, 2024: replacement body-worn and in-car cameras from Axon for the police department, and a solid waste services contract with GFL. Both came with staff reports behind them; the camera contract was briefed and voted the same night.

The long-running Park West Village case returned for a check-in. The proposed major amendment to that mixed-use planned development, REZ 22-0012, has been before the council since a July 23 public hearing, continued on August 13 and August 27, deferred at the applicant's request on September 10 and continued again in October. Action is set for January 14. The council also held a public hearing on adopting the 2024 Wake County multi-jurisdictional hazard mitigation plan, adopted its legislative agenda for the 2025-2026 biennium, amended the town code's environment and traffic chapters over mowing within street rights-of-way, and reconciled its American Rescue Plan Act funds. Police, fire and IT staff were recognized for their work in western North Carolina after Hurricane Helene. A work session followed on proposed updates to the Connect Morrisville strategic plan for FY25 through FY27, and the council closed in session on an economic development matter and a contract.
