What's on this agenda
The Orange Unified Transportation Board met on 16 June 2025 to comment on three staff documents, none of them requiring a vote. The substantial one is a draft State of County Transit report, which would set out what county transportation services have done since the 2022 transit plan and what it wants next. Staff make the case in that draft that the department covers all 150,626 county residents at the lowest cost per service hour in the Triangle while receiving the smallest share of transit tax investment in the county.
The board also reviewed a draft project management plan for projects outside the state transportation improvement program, drawn from the county's Transportation Multimodal Plan and aimed mainly at safety for vulnerable road users, and an update to its own orientation material. Staff reported on the county land use plan, the Hillsborough Circulator and a corporate extension partnership, the FY26 annual work program, and business at the metropolitan and rural planning organisations and NCDOT.
