Both discussion items went over to September. Tim Logue and Brian Mayell agreed to email draft plant lists to members before that meeting, drawing on lists from Raleigh, the North Carolina Botanical Garden and a draft for Durham. On planting priorities for the coming year, the board talked about continuing at Cates Creek Park and along Riverwalk, with crab apple and silverbell among the species considered.

The invasive removal team is spending its summer workdays on stiltgrass at the old Stickworks sculpture site on Riverwalk, and has found a large patch of Japanese knotweed along Bellevue Branch. Incoming Garden Club president Stacy Koval introduced herself and will report monthly from now on. Staff said the interpretive sign has been ordered and the pruning workshop is set for October 2 at 9 a.m. in Murray Street Park. Six of the board's seven members attended; the minutes were approved on September 16.
